eBay Canada profit estimate

Seller tools · eBay.ca · CAD

What will you keep from this sale?

Estimate profit, your maximum purchase price, and the lowest sale price that meets your goal. Standard eBay marketplace orders only: one physical item, one order, with a Canadian seller and a buyer registered in Canada receiving ordinary domestic delivery.

An estimate, not an eBay settlement or tax calculation. Buyer sales tax is included in fee bases but is collected and remitted by eBay, so it is never counted as your income.

1. Choose your fee schedule
2. Enter sale and costs (CAD)

Money inputs support cents and a maximum of CAD 1,000,000 each. Purchase cost should include any acquisition tax and inbound shipping. Other costs can include allocated listing, Store, or advertising costs outside General campaigns.

3. Use your actual tax rates

Enter both rates explicitly (0–30%, up to four decimal places). Use the buyer tax applicable to this sale and the tax on your seller fees from your account or invoice. These are different taxes. For price scenarios, these rates stay fixed. No province-based rate or tax-credit assumption is made.

4. Optional General ad scenario

Off: enter 0%. On: enter 2–100%. This models an ad fee; it does not predict attribution. Priority and Offsite advertising are excluded from automatic fees.

Scope, assumptions and sources

Net profit is before income tax. ROI means profit divided by your all-in purchase cost; it is unavailable when purchase cost is zero. No assumption is made about recoverable fee tax or input tax credits. Fee tax is estimated on the percentage final value fee, per-order fee and modelled General ad fee.

eBay Live transactions and case-break purchases use a different fee schedule and are unsupported. Manual review is needed for foreign buyer registration or delivery, eBay International Shipping, expedited shipping or cheaper-shipping substitutions, currency conversion, other marketplaces, multi-item orders, mixed/two-category listings, NFTs, account discounts or performance penalties, refunds, disputes, uncertain ad attribution or unknown fee tax. These cases are outside this calculator.

Store subscriptions, insertion/listing charges, Priority/Offsite advertising and other expenses are not automatically added. Include a reasonable allocation under other costs. This model adds no separate payment-processing or regulatory charge beyond the checked eBay schedule.

Fee schedules checked 13 October 2026. Recheck eBay before relying on a quote: non-Store fees, excluded eBay Live fees, Store fees, General campaign fees, ad attribution, and tax policy.
